i am so brainless.
the number of stupid things i did today would give a retard a run for his money.
let's see.. where shall i start?
well first off, i was supposed to meet bena today at mong kok at 3pm but her phone screwed up and i couldn't contact her. when i tried calling her it said that her card had expired or something =\
anyway, so i woke up late (yay, managed to sleep more this time coz i raided my cousins drug stash and stole some running-nose tablets.. lol =D druggie) and watched episodes of house.
*1st dumb thing: there were 8 discs in the album so i assumed that each disc contained an episode.. i forgot that no season of any tv show would only be 8 episodes long, so i changed the disc each time i finished 1 episode from it and got up to disc 3 before i realised House's ex had appeared out of nowhere and that they mentioned a previous episode i didn't remember watching -__-' only then i realised that there were multiple episodes per disc, which means i've skipped a few episodes. pissed >=(
when i finally dragged my lazy butt out into the cold weather, i started my adventure today not really knowing where i was going (bena was still uncontactable.) so i got on the train and decided to get off at any stop that i felt like. the doors opened at tsim tsa tsui and before i knew it i had been swept out of the door by the lunchtime crowd getting out of the train. so i took a few tentative steps around and decided to head for any exit. trouble is, that underground station happened to be huge, i swear i was walking underground for like half an hour before i finally saw the light =( and it wasn't the illuminating light of shopping streets either, it was some random street with commercial buildings. so down i went again into that darn labyrinth of exits and gave up on exploring that place for today. will get my cousin to take me tomorrow :)
and that was my adventure for the day... LOL.
then i went off to mongkok, which i can say i felt more confident navigating. i found fa yeung kai, the street that william recommended the night before (had dinner with vincent, alastair, william, and bena.)
vincent: is this place too expensive? *points to some flashy expensive looking place whilst glaring around the group*
everyone: ............................err...n.........o = D.........
so we went in and then william ordered mantous, the cheapest thing on the menu. LOL.
vincent: ARE YOU JUST ORDERING THE CHEAPEST THING? >=(
william: *guilty look*
hahahah. the xiao long baos were yummy though. i got burnt trying to eat it :(
purchases so far:
1. a coat
2. a bag for my sister.
3. 2 jumpers.
4. white flats
5. boots
6. onion man keychains
7. jacket
8. long knit
9. stockings
10. converse sneakers
11. chloe bag =D
i went hunting for janeans miu miu bag but sadly to my disappointment as i inspected the bag closely the label sneakily joined the U in Miu Miu up to make it MioMio so that those sneaky vendors cannot be accused of selling fake goods -_-'
so janean i'm guessing no miumiu bag anymore, unless you want a MioMio bag.. LOL.
i have my eye on the shu uemura eyelash curler, which according to tracy is the BEST eyelash curler in the world. it costs HK$100 for the big one and HK$80 for the small one and apparently it's cheaper in hk so i shall invest in some good ol' torture devices as charles and hayden would call it. :) dw boys you can try out my new curler when i get back.. *brandishes curlers happily*
anyway finally bena called me from a public phone and we continued shopping. tried some street food today: yu dan (fishballs in curry), zha yu pei and zha yao yu (fried fish skin and calamari) and they have these stores everywhere that sell YUMMY mango drinks and desserts. the mango is fresh and sweet and today the drink i had consisted of mango freshly cubed with coconut cream and mango juice with jellies and sago inside.. <3<3 that totally beats bubble cup i must say. not all street foods are all that great though because i SWEAR i saw something that resembles a penis floating around in a cart that people were buying innards (kidneys, intestines, etc) brewed in something and all these people were buying it and happily biting into it. gross, i tell ya. another thing is that they have this tofu that i also swear isn't tofu, it smells literally like shit and they claim it is fermented tofu but i tell ya it's definitely shit disguised as tofu.
maybe the hk government is trying to slowly kill its citizens to reduce the population density. that would totally make sense.
anyway, stupid thing number 2 is that i nearly stepped on a homeless bum today. how, you ask? because he had no arms and no legs and was lying facedown covered with a tarp of some sort and his head was sticking out. a human body with no arms and legs is really a squarish sort of shape, and he was lying on the floor outside a shop so naturally i assumed he was the step INTO the shop.. thank God i didn't step but i felt so guilty i fished out ten bucks and gave it to him.
number 3 is that tonight i went for hotpot with my cousin and some of her friends. being as forgetful as i am, i'd left my new contacts in sg and was wearing expired ones that really really hurt.. (was planning to change to new ones in hk but forgot to bring) and so i took it out... and in the process left my glasses in the toilet of the hotpot restaurant. so now i am contact-less, must go contact hunting tomorrow and we had to go back to the restaurant to ask for glasses.
also, today at hotpot since i couldn't see when i took out my contacts, my cousin's friend put random foods on my bowl and it was all.. mushrooms, more mushrooms, and some beef. and a few strings of veggies.
..........................
cousins friend: 'eat up!'
me: ...its.. yummy.................. *chokes on damn mushroom*
rah. going to try out famous yumcha in HK tomorrow and go more shopping :) i am leaving hk on mon, so i'll be in sg on tues, and melb on weds. :) crossing hundreds of miles in three days.
all the same, i can't wait to be back! :) XO!!
