NO. MORE. TELEMARKETING!!!
can i hear a HELL YEAH?! :)
the manager's finally come to her senses and realized that telemarketing is a dying business in australia, and has finally moved the whole team onto doing customer upgrades.
which is not only a heck of a lot easier, because people are now actually willing to speak to you, and if you play your cards right sometimes they even like you enough to joke around a little bit and take what you're offering them for the next two years. we also now get commission if we manage to attach new services and the hours are better.
i don't deny that it's alot less draining for me - since before i kinda got a little cut up about selling 90 year old pensioners a plan that would cost them what little they already have.. and lying through my teeth that they would have reception in their area even when i wasn't too sure about that.
so yes, at least i don't come home from work now ready to sink my teeth into the nearest unfortunate person. thank God for that, coz i really don't know how long i would've lasted doing telemarketing. i was getting pretty aggro after every job.
moving on, yesterday i visited the courts as part of our pre-term-homework for law. the magistrates court was like i expected/remembered, only worse because all we did was hear bails get approved or remanded and that was basically it. i don't think we even got to hear the offences committed. it was a very touch and go sorta thing and i kinda felt sorry for a judge in a magistrate's court, doing a crappy monotonous boring job like that everyday in a wig that looks ugly and i bet itches.. it's the kinda job that someone's gotta do, but no one particularly loves i think. i literally entertained myself by doodling a picture in my notebook. i drew a house, sun, animals, etc etc.. very intellectually stimulating it was.
so we moved onto the county court which was definitely where the big boys were :) im talking hardcore criminals, like rapists and stuff. unfortunately we didnt get to sit in the rape one, coz i would've greasied the dude with all my might for sure. anyhoo we randomly picked a court and on our way up, i did something damn embarrassing.
i crushed a judge in the lift doors.
enough said, it was an accident but still my face was burning and i had to endure the rest of the lift ride in awkward silence with charles smirking at me and giggling.
i am a fearsome judge crusher!! =D
anyway, the case this time was more interesting, involving some sort of fraud with a hardcore chinese dude who was even involved in that box hill stabbing case some of you guys might remember? the one in 7-11 where some guy died. anyway it was quite an experience watching the guy get examined and questioned and put under a whole lotta pressure by a tightass prosecutor who fired questions mercilessly and relentlessly, as well as a tad ruder than he had to be.
come to think of it, the prosecutor probably thought that we were related to the chinese dude LOL. heheh. a whole row of asian kids sitting in a chinese mans examination.
anywayyy. i leave u all with another odd spot (yea, that time again)
- the average person spends 2 weeks kissing in a lifetime
AND
- women on average manage about 7000 words a day whereas men get in only slightly above 2000.
owwwie, my cramps hurttt.

australian open fever hit me a tad too late! grrr..i would've bought some tickets and gone.
nvm, there's always next year.
was watching the tennis on tv and got caught up in rooting for Tsonga, the newcomer at the grand slam this year. he fully trashed nadal much to my delight (i enjoy rooting for the underdog sometimes, in this case i took particular pleasure in it because nadal grosses me out) world number 2 he may be, but he also badly needs a haircut and maybe to get rid of that ever-widening bald strip in his parting. and maybe de-grease himself, if it's possible. and stop pulling those perpetual wedgies. LOL.
but anyway, it's always a heap more satisfaction when the underdog you're going for triumphs and comes out tops :] tsonga played excellently yesterday and i was on the biggest high when the match ended.
yay for tsongsa! my new herooo LOL.
anyway.
YAY I GOT MY NEW LAPTOP!

outside

inside.
PINK! PINKPINK! =] am going through this slightly tb and very mental phase where i am trying to make my whole laptop pink. dw, won't go over the top like xiaxue style and plaster everything with tacky diamantes. but i really like this plushy baby pink color. makes me feel soft and fluffy!
my dad was so embarrasing when we were buying the laptop. he tried to bargain with the manager of dick smith until the manager's moustache was quivering with rage and the salesman was quaking and sweating profusely. .______.' i sorta shifted uncomfortably and shuffled away when i saw my dad internally gearing up (he puffs himself up sorta and has this really >=[ expression on his face when hes gonna argue hc)
boo, i'm working like almost every single day next week. *grumble*
and lastly i want you guys to meet TORTLE, my new friend.

she's massive and soft and lovely to sleep with =] my grandma doesnt like her because she takes up blanket. LOL. she muttered some disparaging comment about how its butt is so big and she doesnt get enough space.
thank you davo!
p/s. i seriously will find a way to pay you >=[
*totters off excitedly*

NO WORK YESTERDAY!! (that makes me happy even though i have to work today.zzz)
which made yesterday was a fun fun day!
gloria's back - that means i have my shopping buddy back! so we had lunch at box hill and traded shopping (shoes) and then compared our buys, even though we already did that her first day back on skype for like 3 hours. turns out we bought some of the same products ;) LOL. yay for shopping buddies.
then jess called me after her enrolment. i was supposed to meet her, head to the city, watch a movie with the girls and then go for dinner.. but because we ran very very late.. >.<' funny because we thought we missed the train so we took our time sauntering.. just in time to see the train close its doors and leave.. zzz. don't you hate it when that happens? so no movie LOL. instead we ended up standing around under the big clock at melb central just chatting and catching up and bumping into people we knew. we also made alot of noise i think :p which attracted the ears and eyes of random people who started following our conversations at the wrong times .. LOL. oh - thank you maggie for the souvenir from hk! she got me a lovely little package with all sorts of cool things packed inside. plus some stickers of
ah jin from it started with a kiss(forgot his real name - he's the dude from farenheit <3) onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhgMBlrNad01mlMlYwMQIum9G5fsw-C06mQHsKZBIZP8KpHJZ4vwf_RgAmug-3Nnv4owgtmJ-r4d47hLrgSzsUnzLlvpUSNplkoMhgt5fzEhMRKvg8OfS6u2s2wjAw7sPnzEZJCA/s1600-h/CIMG3311s.JPG">

warning: skip to post below. not for the faint hearted.
sometimes it's hard having a public blog where everything you say is restricted because you never know who's out there reading it. as it is at the moment i haven't actually found out how to restrict entries but i need a place to vent frustrations. so yeah, skip down to entry below unless you want to read a bunch of emo crap in which case, if you choose to, i hold completely no responsibility for.
lately things seem to be piling up and getting on top of me, i feel like im buried under the constant stream of things i have to do as well as the expectations people have of me. on one hand, there's work which i swear is making me aggro because people constantly telling you off or swearing at you just for doing your job.. i duno. for six hours straight, you try and sound perky and enthusiastic by really by the end of the shift what i really want is something i can sink my teeth into or stab viciously and pretend its all the horrible customers i get over the phone.
so yeah. works all that. then there's family and we come to a whole different level of stress. just because i have a job now, my mom sorta assumes that makes me like financially independant or something and shes fully expecting me to pay for every single one of my expenses.. and on top of that things are messed up at home.. and that i don't even want to go into or i might really stab the nearest thing.
so we have happy xinni, the one that meets the friends and tucks away all these things neatly and doesnt let a single bad thought or feeling escape.
then there's angry xinni, who emerges the moment something gets me at the wrong time or shits me.
and now i'm feeling particularly shitty bcoz what i just did was let them both come together.. i don't even have control of who i want to be anymore.

today i went for enrolment at monash. i was pretty excited coz i haven't been to the clayton campus ever before, and it was my first time today. add to that the prospect of the next five years' worth of eye candy... LOL i kid i kid..

tried to do charles's hair on the bus. er.. i forgot to rotate it and cbs uploading again so here it is :p
anyway, enrolment was.. fun.. we got lost.. and by the time we found our way to the law building, it was quite intimidating to sit in a roomful of smart 99's knowing that i'm a fluke 99.. whereas everyone there was a real genuine 99. -_-' lots of melbourne high guys, like a bunch standing together.. and i saw not one single person from my school. whilst the lady rambled on, everyone in the room paid attention, all sitting there with straight faces... nobody mucked around..everyone looked so smart and intellectual and serious.
...then there was just me writing GAY as many times as i could on charles's arm and ocassionaly twirling my hair.
:( LOL misfit much?
anyway, other than gaining a bunch of papers that list our subjects and stuff, as well as the booklist (there's PRESCRIBED readings and RECOMMENDED readings and EXTRA readings) and all up there are like 15 books.. LOL dear Lord ._.'
there seems to be a bunch of things to do already, like our HOMEWORK.. yes we got HOMEWORK on the course information day (how sneaky is that??) our assignment is a 1500 word report on 2 court hearings, can be any court of our choice, magistrates, supreme, family violence, whatever. i'm thinking family violence sounds good cos will be interesting cases at least.. last time for our commerce excursion we went to the magistrate's court and it was a total snore.
at least at the family violence court we might see some wife beaters.. coolies :p
so we've already got readings to do, timetables to get done, law camp to sign up for, associations, homework, books to buy.. phwoar. promises to be very busy indeed!
after that we took the train to city and sat in fed square watching a magician for awhile.
umm.. and after that. david came and generously shouted us to a lavish meal.
that is the end of my day. LOVE all!

i think i've changed my mind about telemarketing. it is
so exhausting.
i didn't make any sales today. what i did get though, was yelled at once, and hung up on more than a few times.
you know what i also realised? i have this problem where some people's voices sound completely asexual to me, so i don't know whether to address them as Sir or Mdm. ._.'
i don't know how people can manage to sound both male and female at the same time, it's weird how i've never had that problem before but i guess when you talk to people you usually see them so it's not a problem figuring out whether they're male or female but anyway.
anyway.. i'm soso tired, my voice is hoarse and i want to crawl into bed and sleep. no more telemarketing till saturday anyway, so yippee i get a break tomorrow.
if it even counts as a break because i've got uni enrolment. but at least
that's exciting.

well. i've been busy since i got back! here's a brief update.
9th - arrived on weds night. flight was one of the worst flights i've ever had to take. by coincidence, 9th of jan was the scheduled date of opening for singapore airport's long awaited terminal 3 - the "home" of the airbus A380. confusion in the airport was bound to occur, since in the newspaper the day before all outbound flights were listed to depart from terminal 3. anyhoo, we were the last passengers to board the plane and had to be zipped to the gate on those beeping flashing buggy things. everything that could go wrong, did go wrong.
the only remotely good thing that happened is that the baggage weighing sensor broke when we were checking in, so we actually managed to take over about 160kgs worth of baggage. whew.
all my shopping come home with me :p
day 2 - was woken up by gentle rhythmic bouncing on the bed. mumbled 'GO AWAY' and bouncing increased in rhythm frantically. opened one eye reluctantly and found jan hovering on my bed. off to bh to pass shoes to melina and collect my yearly, then to the library to get myself some books. at around 5, hayden closed shop and we decided to stop by his aunty's house.. and those bad friends jan and hayden ignored my pleas to take the bus and plodded up like 20 hills from the pines to the house. they claim they didn't hear me but i really DID say to take the damn bus :( but nobody listened...when i finally staggered in, my legs literally gave way.
i am
so unfit.
at night, we ambushed charles in his home and lured david out at the mention of cheap food. hayden's auntie shouted us dinner at some italian place on high street - first pasta in a long time tasted.. heavenly :) no offence or anything but about 2 months worth of asian food would make anyone crave a nice fat-ful burger.
called up telemarketing job and got an interview.
day 3 - met up with tina, who owes me his $20 from his bet that i'd go to tafe. LOL *smirk* free lunch at sofias, cambers. and then we went to the jap grocery store and the park to bum. good catching up, since i haven't seen tina for about 5 months.
day 4 - sleepover at haydens, planet shakers after. PS was pretty disappointing in the sense that we went into the service and was greeted by 2 repetitive loud rocky songs and a pushy speaker who emphasized too much on giving tithes and offerings as well as how many people he "saved".
no offence or anything, but i found it all very commercialised.
preacher: first time i spoke, 10 000 people came!
crowd: WOOO!!
preacher: then 20,000!
crowd: WOO!!
and at the end of the service he prayed for sick people.
preacher: 'in the name of Jesus, those with cancer will be healed!'
crowd: WOOO!!
preacher: 'in the name of Jesus, those with HIV positive will be HIV negative!!'
crowd: WOOOO!!
and then i thought how awkward it would be if it was like
preacher: 'in the name of Jesus, those with herpes will be healed!!'
crowd: *silence*
one person: WOOO!!!
lol.
so anyway we finally got back and stayed up all night watching white chicks, then scrubs. made our own fondue.. etc. it was just like singapore all over again!
being economical, as david likes to put it. buy your own cadbury chocolate and melt it.never going to max brenners again LOL.
melina and i, she just bought a new camera so she's very excited. for once i wasn't the one taking photos. and i had the pleasure of bugging people for photos the moment they come online. :D
charlabelle and i fighting for the beanbags.
finally settled.
jan mel and i :)
as usual we stayed up all night biting each other and talking andwhatnot. when morning dawned, i was so frickin tired and grumpy that i heard buzzing in my ears. sleep deprived much?
then it was time for my job interview! mel took me to the telemarketing place, i handed in my resume, blahblahblah and then jan met us for dinner and we headed to the city. we were all so tired that we pretty much fell asleep in borders (well i sped-read as much gossipgirl as i could)
us at bus stop.
lol. unflattering photo indeed. us having dinner when we found the boys again.
was so super RAHHed when i got the newspaper. all around me i could hear excited screams and people throwing the papers into the air and flinging their arms around each other. and i had no idea where my name was. i scanned the lim's in the paper about fifty times and couldn't find my name. that's when ms. shale's voice started echoing in my head about not getting first round offers.
then i saw the headline on one of the articles in the paper called 'what to do if you miss out.'
LOL that's when i really started freaking out. so i marched up to the monash stand and demanded to know why my name wasn't in the paper, as well as check the clearly-in score.
so anxious that night that it was hard to fall asleep. but fatigue overwhelmed me eventually (night before was like 1 hour sleep MAX.) and i drifted off.. only to be woken up the next morning by an excited grandpa prodding me with his walking stick waving an envelope. ripped it open, grunted, and went back to sleep. woke up again to get ready for second group interview at the telemarketing place. at night i finally caught up with pris and she gave me a MASSIVE block of cadbury chocolate (massive.. MASSIVE like the size of an A4 paper) LOL. thanks pris! anyway twas good to catch up.. she was telling me bout trivia night.
pris: yeh the questions were really easy questions! like what is the first three words of the bible! HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA easy right!!
me: ........
pris: heh... heh.. huh? are you serious?
LOL. fyi, the first three words are In The Beginning, just in case anyone asks you that
i worked today, first trial day and all in all i'm very thankful! i sold 3 plans today, even though 1 got rejected coz of the credit check and it's not as bad as i thought it would be. good job though, in the sense that i don't have to clean out anymore lamb souvlaki spits or cook or anything, just sit down at a desk and ringringring and talktalktalk.. which isn't too hard for me anyway although i get abused by lots of croaky and ultra cranky old people -_- they are all like 90 years old or something and make an average of like 1 call a week.. MAN its crazy.
so now it looks like i'm working tues, weds, thurs, and sats.
oh then.. davo, hayden mel and i went off to dance dynamics for our first hiphop/funk class. now every conceivable part of my body hurts - even parts i wasn't aware existed. legs are screaming and arms are all sore.. very very tired. but it was a ton of fun anyway and i reckon i'll keep going.
alrightys. catch soon!

mm i know it's abit late but LOL i have finally decided to settle down and make some New Year's Resolutions for 2008, which i will record here so i won't forget. i couldn't remember last years but i'm pretty sure it had something to do with VCE.
anyway, let's start with the blatantly obvious ones.
#1 stop eating so much chocolate.
#2 stay out of trouble, and i mean this like.. in the sense where, don't do anything without thinking, don't get into situations that beg the question "how did i get here in the first place?"
#3 don't wag too much uni and try to keep my head above the water..
and perhaps most important..
#4 don't let old friendships slip by..don't take people around me for granted.
i briefly thought about making one of my resolutions not to judge people who wear crocs and couple t-shirts and other heinous fashion atrocities but i decided that's too much for now. lol. i still need my fun once in awhile..
birthday shoutout to min2 for the 13th!! happy 18th dearie! hope you have a great one!

no doubt it sounds pretty but somehow the notes strike a bit hollow, a little bit empty.

since i just had a shower and it's 1.15am, i figure i'm not gonna be heading to bed that soon since i don't want to wake my cousin up by using the hairdryer.
i've got a couple of things to do anyway, like pack and do my internet check in for tomorrow's flight. time flies when you're having fun, and my week in HK's literally zipped by. all the same, i think the time i stayed was just right, because HK's the kind of place you can't stay too long in for a holiday, or you get really bored.
so i'm gonna share some pictures of what i've been up to!
view from the bridge near where i'm staying - wan chai
william, alastair and vincent.
vincent has the new iphone. it's the bomb.i wish i had one..
causeway bay - tong lo wan, where i did quite a fair bit of shopping.
hk is
really overpopulated.
yesterday i hung out with my cousin since it was saturday and she didn't have to work. she took me to yum cha and then shopping in admiralty and also to lan kwai fong where we hand some super special milk tea.. yummmy ;) it's an old store crammed in the middle of a street, so narrow that the queue can only be single-line and the lettering on the store sign has dropped off. LOL. plastered in front is lots of newspaper clippings that feature the shop, even gloria's favourite bryan wong is endorses it!
lan fong yuen - the milk tea shop.
anyway, today i tried all my new benefit and shu uemura products that i bought yesterday (we bought so much that cousin even got a free makeover at the shu uemura counter)
maggie with the smoky eyes effect.i know, i am a slave to such things :( i couldn't help it, i'm compulsive and that stupid benefit packaging really reeled me in hook line and sinker. their packaging is the cutest! *drools* thanks to stupid benefit, i'm now alot poorer than i intended to be after this hk trip.
with cousin maggie and her thai friend pi, who loves makeup same as i do. :)
delicious mango puree with sago and rice balls and freshly diced mangos. you can get combi's with jelly and various other stuff... mmm orgasmic. fave food from hk so far! beats the shitty tofu and the penis/innards.although i must say, i'm satisfied with the stuff i bought - especially with the High Beam from Benefit. it is so good, i am contemplating buying another one if i pass a counter tomorrow.
then i went to meet bena at tsim sha tsui where we were supposed to pick jono up. due to some complications, he was going to be late, so we went to mong kok to do some last min shopping where i was totally cornered and manipulated into buying some stuffs >=[ grr.. pushy hongkie people.
when we got back to the station, it was nearly 6 and there was no jono in sight :( so we put in an announcement at the station.
*twenty mins later* - still no jono.
so i left bena waiting at the east tsim sha tsui station and set off to the other side of the station to find jono. when i finally found the poor boy 2 hours later, he was so happy to see me that he flung his arms around me LOL
i felt so sorry for him because he doesn't speak chi OR canto, his phone didn't work and he was totally completely utterly lost. we even thought he might've ended up in guangzhou by accident. LOL.
anyway, today we visited the peak and met a few pretty cool people there!
jono cosying it up with ayumi hamasaki.
is it aaron kwok? or is it not? :p
all rise for the President of the United States Anita Hu. :p see, even good ol' bushie's standing up.
anita hu and anita mui LOL
anita bena and calise in rembrandt's painting.

ha. johnny howard is as tall as
me.
damn yao ming is tall.

you think you're special cos you drink your own pee? no.
the tram ride up takes you up a steep
steep hill, along which you see hongkong's night scenery lining the sky. it's beautiful, and also a bit scary when you look down. today was actually a day of much photowhoring, but there were really amazing things i wouldn't trade it for - like the view of hk spread out across us, lights glittering in all its cosmopolitan beauty.
hk by night. breath-taking, the photo totally doesn't do it justice.for a minute, it feels like you own the world :)
great company also helps!
bena and i :) waiting for the tram to go to the peak.

there.. i bought some prof photos so they look way better.
anyway, home in 2 days!
