haven't updated for a long time :)
finally, the long awaited sept holidays. i can't say much about them, except that they're not
really holidays but some evil scheme by our education system to get year 12s to work harder than ever.
the problem is, it's barely working.
i've been having lectures at 9am every single day at melbourne uni. which means i've been getting up even earlier than school days (oh dear Lord, please no.. -.-) to bus to the city. the lectures are so long and drawn out, i can feel my butt slowly getting grafted into the chair as time passes.
that's how much time i sit in those theatres.

thanks tina, for keeping me awake and entertained and being such good company and saving me seats for the past 3 days!
sunday was the worst. it being the weekend and all, the bus timetable was worse than usual..i got to the city really, really early (the only other option was to be really, really late.)
i was so early, i had a whole hour to kill. it was one of those beautiful spring days where you don't regret getting up after all..
so in a burst of enthusiasm, i decided to do something very un-xinnilike.
i walked to uni!

felt like i had the whole city to myself. everything was still and quiet.. the sound of the morning breeze, sunlight filtering through the trees as the shadows of buildings stretched across the streets.. not a car in sight :)
yup.. it was definitely one of those moments i really appreciated being up and about that early on a sunday morning.
had lunch with the girls later at YOYOGI, michelle's declared favourite place.

backtracking a little, sat i celebrated the first day of "holidays"
good weather really makes it fun to walk. i walked from the tutor's place to jan's.

with wasabi, the homestay dog.

we were gonna make a cake but after walking to safeway, there was no time.. so we fried some rice and watched foxtel instead. there was some really disturbing show called 'date my mom' where guys take 3 moms out on a date, and then from that pick a daughter to go on a date with.
........if i was in that show i would never get a date, my mom is so scary >.<
FINALLY went to max brenner's after a term's worth of craving.

with mich & pris.
we went all out ordering everything.

pris with her mocha.

strawberry fondue, belgium waffles with ice cream and strawberries.
my perennial favourite, the 'teardrop' or the three-layer mousse.

YEAH OKAY i
know i look damn greedy LOL

unglamorous faces LOL

yup.. so anyway, in between my lectures i have been visiting borders to do some reading..
i love reading! i think it has something to do with me being a slight recluse when i was younger and preferring instead to just immerse myself in a different world.. where people do magic, fairytales come true.. and there's always a happy ending..

gloria jeans at borders is a really nice place to sit down and chat, or read a book while inhaling the warm aroma of coffee and freshly baked pastries.. :)
the other night we went out to ktv.
jan and mel took their time coming, so i ended up bumming around the city with the guys first.

this is xinman, everybody. the slightly more male version of myself
we had.. TRAMPOLINE (yay!) and then trooped to safeway to stock up on food for ktv. :P
david, being the enormous cheapo he is, swooped on a packet of homebrand cheese rings.
this is everybody's reaction to Homebrand Cheese Rings :P

"LOOK AT MY HOMEBRAND CHEESE RINGS!!'

"what!?! what's wrong with HOMEBRAND CHEESE RINGS!? they were 99c!!'

charles cutting the birthday cake janean made for him :D

evil michael cut my face out *cry*

i can't remember what we were singing. it might have been Stop by spice girls LOL.

the guys

they are really fun because they really wail their lungs out LOL look at charles's face :D CUUUTE

can't remember why i was cracking up.

me & jan!

i like how it seems like melina's face is about to be literally blown away. cool effect :D

southbank at night.. isn't it pretty? i could come here every night and just sit on the bridge..

group pic!

group pic take two :D
we had dinner..at bearbrass
charles : 'bearbrass.....bear..bras?'
sigh. hard to believe he just turned 18.
we had lamb balls -.- (ha,ha) and pizza. didn't take many photos coz too cold, my fingers were really clumsy and numb.
then we walked as fast as we could (well, i did, with janean) we powerwalked like.. the long way to the ferris wheel because we were on the wrong side of the yarra river. :P

IT'S A GOLDEN TICKET! lol.. now i get to visit willy wonka's chocolate factory..

mel was so terrified she gripped the grills and clutched them tightly the whole way, not tearing her eyes away from the steadily increasing heights and cowering in fear. lol.. i didn't know she was scared of heights.

managed to cram 6 people into one compartment. we were the only people on the whole ride too.. because it was so late.. around elevenish.

xinman, davida and mic.

i really like this photo! IT'S SO CUTE ;D
the view was so awesome.. apparently it's the second highest ferris wheel. after wanting to go on it for so long.. i finally did.. and it was the highlight of the night for me. i may be terrified of bugs and supernatural things, but definitely not heights.. it felt like i was on top of the world, away and above the reality you feel when you're on the ground. it was a very.. surreal experience.. watching the city below me, the glittering lights..

mel and i waiting for the bus later.

with jan now too!
so thanks, guys.. for that night.. because when i look back on this year.. it will be one of the things i will remember.. singing at the top of my lungs (well.. more like yelling).. dancing to Stop! and going round and round on that ferris wheel.. being the only people on the ride and having it all to ourselves.. being on top of the whole city..
lastly.. before i go, i have to add with much excitement and approval :
charles got a haircut!!! after so long! about time, his hair was beginning to shroud his face like a bush.
