on Friday i had the biggest craving for cupcakes.
so i decided to make some.
me: i'm gonna make cupcakes tonight!
pris: but i wanna make cupcakes too..
me: LETS MAKE CUPCAKES!!
quality time for best friends.

the ingredients.. chocolate melts, essences (lemon and vanilla, for the icing), icing sugar, 100s and 1000s (i love sprinkles, i was sooo excited when i bought them.) and heart shaped sprinkles, and a lemon for the rind.. cookbooks, caster sugar, nutmeg, self raising flour, baking soda.

first we had to measure out the stuff.. (it's so hard to get a photo of gloria where she isn't ready for it but after a few attempts here's one.)

"no, not yet.. still awhile to go.."

*1 min later*
me : "now is it done?? it looks ready.. maybe we should check."
glo : "NO! NOT DONE YET!" >=( lol.

i left the oven alone, and forgot about the cupcakes and so to our dismay this first batch that we pulled out was slightly.. darker than what it was supposed to be.

"nevermind!," gloria said in a sudden burst of inspiration. "let's just put lots of icing on top, and no one will be able to tell!."

i tell you, i got pretty excited, since i was really looking forward to making icing.
but before we started.. we had to work out the measurement conversions.
lol year 12 students we are, and one of them does specialist math.
i almost wanted to just eat that by itself.
i was trying to take a picture of gloria's bum but she found out too quickly.

we started on our second batch of cupcakes - these ones were lemony flavoured.
they also required us to use an electric beater. this stressed out gloria's mum quite abit.

'i'll do it lah!', she cried and bustled over.
YAY :P lol
but by then the novelty of taking photos had worn off, so i didn't have pictures of the lemony cupcakes.

she made me take another one.. u can tell she's photo ready this time.

THE END RESULT:

good memories.. =) hey girls, we should do this baking thing every so often, i had alot of fun last night and it was good to just hang with u guys.. pity em missed out.

at the end of year 12, i think i will look back and remember moments like these. arnold coming in, and us cracking up, and trying to take photos of gloria's bum, gloria chasing me around, teasing pris about songs..

i have some chronic sleep disorder, i swear. like hypersomnia or something, coz i can't stop falling asleep in lectures.
first lecture of the semester, and i couldn't keep my eyes open for more than ten minutes.
when i got there, out of the corner of my eye i spotted really, really cute hair.. belonging to a guy who was sitting there reading harry potter. i tried really hard not to just stare.
anyway, and then we got into the lecture theatre.. i sat down.. a few minutes later someone set next to me.
i turned, and it was the cute hair guy! darn happy :P would have some hot hair to perv on for the rest of the lecture. had to try even harder to be discreet while perving out of the corner of my eye. coz he was pretty tall, looking at his hair meant i had to sorta roll my eyes up and to the corners while appearing to be looking straight ahead. so hard, i tell you.
then he tapped me and he's like.. 'do you have a pen i could borrow?'

nearly fainted, his hair was soooooo good.. i managed to mumble yes and pass him a pen. then i settled back into perving at him inconspicuously..

alas, even the hot hair couldn't keep me awake. the chronic sleep disorder struck again..and within minutes i was asleep.

i missed out on many minutes of good hair, not to mention my first lecture (which is actually interesting this semester coz we're covering human development - the social aspect of psychology.)

SIGH. i woke up only when he accidentally brushed my arm while trying to replace my pen and not wake me up, just before the lecture ended. he looked like he was trying not to laugh at me -.-

so embarrassing. anyone have any ideas on how to keep awake? i don't take caffeine, so that's out.

maybe he'll be in the same tute as me...lol

! since before the tickets came on presale, i was already as excited as a horny guy walking into club x.
went for dinner at bluefire in MC. i love love LOVE the entertainment book. that was my flounder with .. i can't remember, but it had baby potatoes on the side too.. *drool*

blue fire's most famous for its churrascaria, which is a brazilian bbq sort of thing where u pay a set price ($49.00 per head) and (this is quoted from their menu - "our knife wielding passadors" ) come around and slice a variety of freshly roasted meats off the spit for you. there's spanish sausage - chorizo, lamb, beef, ribs, chicken, calamari.. etc.

too expensive and i didn't want to roll into phantom :P

i have to say, it was a stellar performance, and the good seats was like.. a cherry on top of the ice cream. i could see everything so clearly that if the singer had armpit hair, i would've spotted it. i was right up in the front row, behind the orchestra and they were AMAZING. the music reverberated throughout the theatre and crept its way into my soul.. i felt like it was being lifted :)

yesterday was a day that i'd been looking forward to for a long, long long time. it was the release of HARRY POTTER which i stayed up last night to finish (fell asleep with the book on my face) .. alas, i didn't uphold the tradition of finishing the book in one sitting like i have for the past few years.
anyhow, i realized that i have unknowingly nearly collected all the books (except for chamber of secrets and prisoner of azkaban.)

um, i won't give it away to everyone just yet. but it was as usual a masterpiece and left me reeling, even though it had a slow pickup and some things i expected to happen didn't. on the other hand, another thing i suspected was explained much to my delight and satisfaction :D nothing beats second-guessing the author before the book's written..

OK enough rambling, buhbye everyone.

anyhow our ball of dough (1KG OF DOUGH) looked very unappetising even after we pounded it for ages ._.

zhen's one resembles those tribal woman's nehneh.

i know i am losing hair. the damn onde onde ball rolling is so hard to do perfectly! you put too much filling, the whole ball explodes with bits of sugar sticking out. don't put enough, you end up chewing a ball of dough that tastes like rubber.
i kid you not, onde onde making is tricky business.
the first few onde ondes ..

recruited more helpers! the onde onde ball rolling was taking forever.

once they are rolled, pop them into boiling water..
he decided to create a massive king size onde onde -.- it was like the size of my fist.

um, his hair looks rather blue doesnt it.

there's leons fat ondeondes! hiding innocently in the midst of our nice ones. err.. that onde onde was so big that when we put it into the pot, we thought it wouldn't float.

finally.. as i finished watching 恶作剧之吻 or ISWAK (yes i know it's very old) but who cares.. that's not the point.

the point is.. i realized that.. I LIKE THE SAME TYPE OF GUYS!!

second - jerry yan, my FIRST crush :D
the similarity here isn't quite as noticeable, but in honor of him being my first crush *and because he has dimples* i'm gonna post more than one photo of him, and i'm sure you guys should spot it without difficulty.
he looks abit strange in this hair, but not awful i guess.

now you see it? ;)

third - vic zhou. same show as jerry yan, but went on to star in mars and stuff. (OK I KNOW! i am very backdated on these taiwanese dramas but it's not my fault i live here and i don't really get much exposure to the chinese entertainment industry.)

lastly.. mike he
i think he is a newcomer? i'm not sure, but he stars in summer x summer ( i think that's what it's called) opposite a very.. strange looking girl. no comments, but he's cute and he has that certain feature that i find very appealing.. only in shows though.

i think you guys all know the similarity now right? other than the fact that most of them look like carbon copies of each other..

hahah, that's not to say that i would go for a guy like that in real life though, bcoz very few guys carry off that style with aplomb and in real life i'd just think they were trying too hard.
BUT!!
of course if i find a guy like JERRY YAN (he only wins by the dimples.) ..then muahahha.
...unfortunately they are all like ten years older than me or something.
lol.

i think my eyes were closed. -.- i dont even know who the dude is beside me, but my mom pulled me to stand with him.
they give you a plant when u become a citizen. when the ceremony ended i went to get food *MELINA FREE FOOD* lol, and promptly left my plant somewhere.. and spent the rest of the time hunting for my plant coz i'd forgotten where i'd left it-.-

overheard this china woman exclaiming that the plants were free, and so she should've taken more. -_- HEAR THAT MELINA?!
tsk, china. lol

jk :) ok im off to sleep now, i've been severely sleep deprived for the past 1 week, sleeping at 3am or such. time for some much needed catchup sleep.
