OVERCOMING YOUR FEARS
ladies & gents it's my pleasure to declare today that MELINA HAN, aged 16 going on 17 in two days, has finally faced up to her fear of piercing her ears. Hallelujah, let the world rejoice, baby!
if your response to that was '...' join me all in laughing at Melina the Wuss. but first let me recount the exciting events of today. one thing i've realised in mapping & planning things is that it NEVER works out. trust me. you plan to stay home and study, you end up going shopping. you plan to be an accountant, you end up a dollarshop lady. you plan to have brekkie with a friend, you wake up for lunch. you plan to fall in love & get married by 25, you end up pregnant/heartbroken at 18. or maybe it's just me, but things never work out the way i plan for them to. it's good and bad at the same time, but i'm dealing with it. so this morning one of my aunties barged into my room today and at us to wake up. their flight is tomorrow arvo, so they were adamant on checking out pancake parlour's breakfast menu.
i HATE BREAKFAST :( eating in the mornings is a big no-no for me. i KNOW they say it's the most important meal (who's THEY? ._. who died and made them king?) but my throat just closes up and i can barely choke anything down in the morn, unless it's like.. :] full continental style breakfast (ahhh) that's available at lunch still. lol. but i love pancakes. ohhh, the dilemna. ! anyway i blearily scrambled out of bed and threw some clothes on and got to PP. (pancake parlour you doink) meh. breakfast was huge, i had half of whatever was on my plate and gave up - pretty amazing considering how much i love pancakes. but oh my, what a breakfast it was. lemme make you guys drool: rashers of bacon, grilled tomatoes & mushrooms, free range eggs, 2 buttermilk pancakes in maple syrup.
and i only ate half too :( minus the bacon. i detest bacon. it tastes funny. anyway, sigh, as i longingly looked at the food in front of me, i thought of all the kids in china ._.
then sis & i decided to walk it off at shoppo, melina called and i ended up staying longer/spending more than i'd intended to. we were walking around in myers looking at stuff and trying on CUP DAY HATS. i love the small ones that have little flowers and feathers. they are soooooo cute. one day i'm gonna buy a hat and go to cup day when i'm 18 lol. wooo.. anyone remember last year's cup day photos of me & meanbean wandering around myers mucking around with bras and hats? time fliessss. come jan 07 i will have been in melbourne for 2 years and mum's already made plans for me to apply for citizenship. can't help but wonder if i can keep dual citizenship thus retain all benefits of holding passports from two countries, hee hee :D (can be done okaY! i know of people who have two passports. i also want, hehe.) i mean, i'm too young to decide where i'm gonna spend the rest of my life! who knows where i'll be in the future. it would be a great irony if i gave up singaporean citizenship, gained australian, and then decided to work in singapore. -.-
then mushu came and we went shopping. :] sprayed many perfumes on ourselves (i still like DKNY be delicious) um, they've come up with a red apple scent now but methinks the green apple still sends me into delirium :D tommy girl is nice too, but unfortunately everyone uses tommy girl. i liked escada, and the new armani scent is reaaally nice. there's a sample stick on november's issue of cosmo, and it smells heavenly :D i couldn't stop sniffing cosmo. me and my sniffing thing.. yes. =\ i smell everything from money ( i loooove the smell of new mint) people (i love it when people smell warm and clean and snuggly - that always makes me want to just bury my face in their smell) clothes & cars (the smell of newww) and fooood. we went to visit romy at bodyshop :) and melina's bankcard got eaten by the ATM. i bought some pants (boooring) but i needed them and they were good priced.. and my itch for dresses and rings has turned into a fullblown rash. i tried on this summery dress today and it was soooo cute :( but unfortunately the price wasn't that cute so i had to reluctantly replace it on the racks after stroking it lovingly. i got a necklace and a pair of earrings. meh. when i was shopping with ray i saw this ring that i really liked, so i decided to try it on today, and after watching me try it on and giving me a couple of weird looks, the sales assistant mumbled 'you know, it is actually a toe ring, but if you can wear it on your fingers whatever suits you.' ahh the embarrassment !
we bumped into tiffany at supre. o.O
tiff : IM GETTING A BELT! I DONT SHOP HERE!! *waves belt around* what are YOU doing here -.-
me : I DONT SHOP HERE EITHER!. im getting a hairband. *flashed my hairband defensively*
three of us just stood there eyeing each other suspiciously. it was awkward and funny. i love how everybody just sort of hides the bag they're holding if it's supre. not that i have anything against it but yeah. it's SUPRE :D hur hur.
after that i felt bored and ADD'ed and dissatisfied because i had no dress and the ring that i wanted was a toering. so i decided to make melina pierce her ears. :] i determinedly marched up and down westfield several times checking hair salons and chemists. ! most shops didn't have specialised people available, which leads me to the question of since when did ear piercing take so much skill? gee, i remember mine were like $5 piercings in AMK on those dodgy streetside stools with those dodgy aunties in the red plastic chairs whose main occupation is ear piercing. very no-nonsense and businesslike, these aunties. they collect your money, wave you into a chair, and don't give two hoots if you're ready to bawl before they grab your ear, dot the spot you're about to spear with a needle, and brutally poke the gun in.
joking la, it's not that bad, but i can't ever remember it being such a formal affair. plus it doesn't even hurt that much, just like a flick of the ear and it goes hot :] i ever had 3 or was it 4 ? done in one shot * cartilage too!. (i think i was abit stressed that day) anyway melina was ready to burst into tears, she'd chewed her fingernails down to the quick. this perky looking asian chemist dude veryn enthusiastically told melina that he'd be happy to do it but he might not do such a good job.lol.. the look of fear on her face :))) PRICELESS. -> my birthday present to her.
very proud of mushu that she's finally gotten what she's wanted for the past year. CONGRATS MOO.
we should all just do what we feel like doing sometimes and stop worrying :) we only live once anyway. (this i mean, WITHIN REASON)
yesterday night i was msning with a friend. it's been awhile and i was very inspired when my friend said ' God led me into this, so he'll lead me out of it..' referring to a current predicament. takes a lot of courage to just have blind faith.
well. couple more weeks everyone. just hang in there :) year 11 will be over soon..
(btw, i am hating my wireless currently because i keep getting dced?! why oh why! :'( someone fix for me please)
i paid the price in true retail therapy style today. what an expensive price. my wallet is sadly licking its wounds in my room and my transaction account is officially nonexistent. im so pov i cant even draw 20 bucks from it, no joke. someone donate to me now, PLEASE. cannot wait till it's all over. the stress is killing me.
ey, i was reading cosmo and i opened the sealed section ( i paid money for it -.- so why not) it was quite an interesting read. if anyone would like to know the best sex positions, ask me! i can show off the new knowledge attained from cosmo. i like it - it's got good balance of style, fashion, music, celeb goss, reality, whatever. very good magazine. considering a monthly subscription. aside from trashy mags though i ocassionally enjoy TIME.. (yes, even though sometimes i'm clueless about the featured people but it makes for a good read)
