i love AUSTRALIA :D
this sudden rush of pride for australia is brought about by the fact that today, (a thursday) i got off school at 1.48 (unheard of in singapore after you pass grade 3) and i am officially on holiday till next monday, which thereafter begins a super exciting week for work experience! :D *rubs hands together gleefully* where i say, would you find such a thing in singapore? even though i reckon i might be doing a lot of photocopying and sealing of envelopes and the pay is practically exploitive, i reckon it'd be fun. coz i'm utilising my week in the city to full extent - meeting up with friends and perhaps late night shopping or movie on friday. muahahaha. i also love australia because there are fantastically exciting things here like krispy kreme (damn, should've done my work exp there lol) and max brenner's and pancake parlour and stuff. (food, obviously. food always makes me happy :p) but it just seems like things here seem to be better, compared to in singapore (oh, except for the shopping and hawker food in singapore, and of course my darling friends) this is well and truly a wonderful country to live in :D
was talking to the girl i work with, val (she's swiss). we were just talking about travelling and stuff, and i told her i really love travelling but i miss home heaps and sometimes it's hard when there's no one to keep you company (coz she and her bf moved from england down here for a year to check it out) but yer, i mean.. it's not so bad when you have someone to go with you, but in any case, she told me that 'no one stays with you forever, and in life you're always alone'.. good advice for a person who detests loneliness *cough* lol.. she's moving back to england end of this year, reason being coz she doesn't like australia as much as england :p hmm, how come? england is positively dreary some days, i remember that the streets were grey and glum in london, and everyone seemed so been-there-done-that kinda thing. i did enjoy their accents though, i think english accents are the most poshest in the world lol..(also snobby)
mm.. i remember we stayed in this house from the last century in lake district :D and i always remembered this house coz there was a secret passage inside it! yep! so secretive and definitely appealed to me like crazy (i mean, hello, i was what, 10? very understandable) that i kept on running in and out even though it was technically a dark tunnel inside the house -.- but it was rather exciting coz it was stone and stuff, and i kept on thinking of those stories where the normands invade the saxons (in medieval england) and the english women and children have to flee into the secret passage where they get tragically torn apart and never see each other again until some meeting of chance in the future.
ok, enough babbling. lol. mm.. got our reports today. 2 B's (one for english oral.. DAMN :( oral is something i will forever suck at.. and one for a lit film analysis where (stupidly) i forgot to include film techniques in my analysis. yesss, stupid i know. and one B+ for my gen. aww i suck so much at gen, even though it's supposed to be easier than methods but still >.< meh, methods i did surprisingly well but if i don't get tuition soon, i'm obviously going to flunk the next one - probability, combinatorics and rates of change.. arrggggh.. two of my most hated and lousiest topics lumped side by side, next to each other for this test.. meh. this school for excellence had better be worth travelling every week to the city on my FRIDAYS, and also spending that much on them.. *grr* the price of being excellent truly hurts :p
other than that, all my reports were fine and dandy. ironically mr. yu gave me a glowing report -.- but i have a feeling he copy-pasted and just changed names in general lol.. :p
yesss.. anyways, plans.. - friday to the city to watch pirates of the carribean two and max brenners.. (i feel myself growing fatter already) and.. i donno, just bum in the city :) and badminton saturday or sunday. i need the exercise anyway, and it's pretty enjoyable in any case :D
but.. there's also.. a pile of homework to go through. endless macbeth questions, great gatsby creative assessment, methods studying (i WILL understand combinatorics and probability) *grits teeth* and general revision, mm.. plus reading of whatever psych i'm missing out on next week. OH and chinese spelling -.-
ok, some of that excitement and happiness is beginning to wear off.
i love shan hu hai! :D jay chou and the girl really sound good together. they should go out and instead of regular talking they should sing together. heheheh. and i reckon jay chou's got a good flair for penning songs, coz they always sound 329874123987421 times more meaningful in chinese :p (i don't care, call me a fob but it's true!) and 'dang ni gu dan ni hui xiang qi shui' by nicholas teo.. ehehe.. i just like his hair :p nah, that's a good song too.. as well as HIPS DON'T LIE by shakira ft. wyclef jean and SO SICK Ne-Yo.. *sings at top of lungs* SO SICK OF LOVE SONGS.. SO TIRED OF TEARS..
oh and yesterday, for some reason, this just popped in my head..
'i'm all out of love, i'm so lost without you..' blah blah.
sometimes, oldies are the best :D
ok.. i'm going to poke at some macbeth before work later. (lucky payday's before weekends lol)
