….what’s with all the melodramatic people these days?! i was browsing through pictures in friendster (fine, i really don’t have anything better to do..) and then you see people really..i don’t know *shudder* saying stuff that they’re saying because they think it’s “cool” to be angsty and depressed and hate the world and mourn for their lost love and stuff. really..there’s nothing wrong when people actually mean it and they’re not faking. but when you see people who’re so obviously and distinctly saying it for the attention they soak up appearing to be poetic and reminiscent and forlorn...bleh. I think I’m developing a holden complex.
enough about them. this week has been irritatingly long, since i’m already in holiday mood. dad’s coming back on friday with my new phone, the samsung x660. personally i haven’t seen it yet but on pictures i googled, it looks black and square. the only plus is that it’s flip. *sigh* i do admit, it was that time again when that feeling (the one where you’re absolutely taken by this irrepressible urge to chuck out the old and get something new) besieged me. i had my eye on the sony ericsson z520i ever since i saw yingru’s and fell in love with it. don’t ask why, but it has a certain appeal. then i found out that appeal comes with a price, approximately 400-500 dollars. being the cheapo that i am, i refused to shell out that much for a phone i wouldn’t even use that often. so i settled for the cheaper option..the samsung x660 which until my dad phoned me up to tell me that it was one of the options available, i’d never even heard of. i’m sort of viewing my dad’s return with apprehension. this term i’ve done pretty well, considering that it’s all self-motivated, coz last year I had Priscilla who made me feel totally guilty when she did all this work and I didn’t. this year I’m proud to say I credit all work (albeit last minute) to me! outcomes are all over, and the results are as follows:
English – unknown yet. i feel totally cheated on this one. The topic was sooo general, and sooo easy, that I didn’t really know how to structure specific relevant points. Digressing from plan, I didn’t make an essay plan and made up my essay as I went along. Damnit.
Chinese – haven’t gotten it back yet, don’t intend to ask either. Last year’s experience tells me asking will set mr. yu off on an extremely long speech protesting and proclaiming the amount of work he has and yadda yadda yadda. =\ and you’d think he wasn’t PAID to do it. and it is his occupation after all.
Psychology – haven’t gotten this one either. I have a good feeling about it coz I knew my answers and I finished early (ok this is due to me being totally cheap and “kiasu” – typical Singaporean opportunist that went into the classroom 15 minutes early bluffing that I was an ESL student..) shut up.. i was really nervous okay. By the way, ESL means English second language. :p
General math – 84%
Math Methods – 90% (not bad this, considering I spent the whole night on psychology memorizing brain research techniques and so on.)
Lit – A+ J heh. Heh.
With 2 more days to end of term, you can sort of feel this restlessness in the air. By the way, today was strictly uneventful. It was free dress day though. Prize for the most..*cough* unusually dressed person goes to erm..this china chick who (I am not kidding here) wore a bright orange polka dotted nightshirt-dress and pink boots. Not hot pink, but the bright, irritating, pastel pink. =\ gotta give her credit for bravery J
And..i had a debating meeting during lunchtime. Honestly, I don’t really know why I signed up for debating, except I had to get more stuff on my extracurricular list. I was a bum last year and didn’t do anything, and my list had like, one thing on it. it was quite shameful. Anyway, the topic is Victoria should get a bill of rights. Uhhm. Lol. One thing I didn’t know is that debators have to be smart =x I’m gonna spend my holidays reading up more about the constitution and bill of rights etc. it’s sort of fun though. Ok..i sense weird looks in my direction. Hm. I’m not sure what’s happening with the groups though cos apparently..we *em and i* are in 2 groups. Huuuh? I have a feeling we’ve been split. I dunno. *sigh* oh well. Whatever. We’ll work it out. It’s not really like year 7 where it’s the end of the world if you’re separated from your friend :p I really do hate speaking in public. The feeling’s like unexplainable, my legs get weak, my voice shakes, I forget what I wanna say, I’m just bloody nervous in general like today in Chinese. Bena and I were trying to be as indiscreet as possible and not call attention to ourselves so we wouldn’t get picked and we were really quiet and sank really low in our seats, but it didn’t work anyway. Mr yu’s always picking on us for some reason. And hey, this was Chinese second language. I should’ve been confident. But I don’t know where any sign of confidence went coz I totally screwed up what I wanted to say :p but oh well. Resolution this year : improve confidence for public speaking/singing/whatever.
Anyway, I’m gonna go do some methods homework now before I slack off too much. Sorry for the excessively long and boring entry.
